"Familiar" by me
Here is another one of my poems :) hope you like it
I barely recognized you on the street -
A stranger with such familiar features.
It's been the whole life since I saw you for the last time,
Can you imagine just how much I missed you?
You've become so different, but so handsome,
And you are nothing like as you once were.
I wish we still were friends, so young and careless,
But it will never be the same again.
Your face, it looks so painfully familiar -
Even though I know everything changes,
Remember, we once promised that we'd never part? -
And now we're standing here, almost strangers.
They flash before my eyes, our childhood moments -
Dirty hands and sneakers full of sand,
No evil in the world, no pain, no problems,
And we have got a thousand years ahead...
